Job Title: Mortgage Loan ProcessorJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Mortgage Loan Processor to support the timely and accurate processing of residential mortgage loan applications. In this role, you review and process loan files, gather and verify borrower documentation, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure full compliance with applicable lending guidelines and regulations. You manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional accuracy, professionalism, and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Review mortgage loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with lending requirements.
  • Ensure all required borrower and loan information is collected and entered accurately into loan processing systems.
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date loan files throughout the entire processing lifecycle from application through closing.
  • Monitor the status of each loan in the pipeline and proactively address outstanding items to keep loans moving forward.
  • Collect, review, and verify borrower documentation, including income, assets, employment, credit, and property-related information.
  • Request additional documentation as needed to support underwriting requirements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and track third-party services such as appraisals, title reports, verifications of employment, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to resolve documentation and file issues.
  • Manage a pipeline of mortgage loan files from initial application through final closing, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Review and satisfy underwriting conditions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Submit complete and accurate files for underwriting review and final approval.
  • Monitor key deadlines and milestones to help ensure timely loan closings.
  • Ensure loan files comply with federal, state, investor, and internal company guidelines and policies.
  • Perform quality reviews of loan files to identify and address potential issues before closing.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive borrower information in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare loan files for closing and assist in ensuring all closing conditions have been met.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of mortgage processing experience, including hands-on management of residential mortgage loan files.
  • Proficiency in mortgage loan processing, including review and handling of conventional loan products.
  • Experience processing Non-QM (non-qualified mortgage) loans.
  • Strong understanding of loan applications, HELOC (home equity line of credit) products, and related documentation requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Fannie Mae guidelines and conventional mortgage standards.
  • Experience working within a mortgage banking environment or similar lending institution.
  • High school diploma (HS Diploma) or equivalent.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing and entering loan data.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with borrowers and internal teams.
  • Ability to interpret and apply lending guidelines, investor requirements, and regulatory standards.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional mortgage banking environment focused on residential lending. Pay and Benefits
