Job description

Duties & Responsibilitiesย 
  • Provides members and Real Estate Lending personnel with quality mortgage loan processing according to the credit union's policies, practices, and procedures. Keeps abreast of all Fannie Mae underwriting guidelines as required.
  • Prepares loan underwriting package for submission to underwriter.
  • Obtains all needed deposit, income & employment verifications for loan packages.
  • Orders appraisals, if applicable, flood determinations, and private mortgage insurance.
  • Coordinates communications between members, realtor, attorney, seller, and appraisal management firm.
  • Requests payoffs and updated insurance declaration pages showing the desired mortgagee clause.
  • Complies with Credit Union Policies and Procedures, as well as regulatory compliance.
  • Provides back-up to other Real Estate Lending staff as needed.
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Skills & Qualifications

Education/Certification & Experience:ย 

  • Minimum 4 years of experience processing conventional and government loans
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of real estate lending criteria, compliance, and federal/state regulations

Skills/Abilities:ย ย ย ย ย 

  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment typical of Mortgage Banking
  • Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Experience with Calyx Point, Meridian Link/Loans PQ, or Encompass Software
