Clinical Counselor (11 Month)
We are searching for an experienced Clinical Counselor (11 Month) at our Goldsmith Campus - Westchester campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
TheClinical Counselor provides multi-culturally attuned clinical counselingservices, (i.e., therapy, individual, couples, and group, crisis intervention,outreach, consultation, and prevention education) to undergraduate and graduatestudents at Otis College. The Clinical Counselor works collaboratively with theStudent Health & Wellness Center staff, which includes Counseling andPsychological Services (CAPS) and Health Services to facilitate and supportoverall student wellness and success. This position is hybrid. The ideal candidate is passionate aboutworking with a diverse creative student population and takes a collaborativeapproach to working with students and colleagues. Expertise in working withinternational students is a strong plus. This position reports directly to theDirector of Counseling and Psychological Services.
Thisis an 11-month full-time position. The active term is from June 15th - May 15theach calendar year. Employees will retain benefits year-round while employed.
CORE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical or Direct Service Daily 80-85%
Individual, Couples, and Group Counseling:
โข Provide brief individual, couples,and group psychotherapy to students on personal, psychological, educational,and/or developmental issues in accordance with CAPS Scope of practice.
โข Assist the client in identifyingpresenting problem(s), establishing treatment goals, and working towardemotional health and wellbeing;
โข Maintains confidentiality asrequired by CA State law and licensing boards.
โข Provide crisis screening andintervention;
โข Determine if referrals are neededand assist client in referral process;
โข Consult with appropriate personnelas needed;
โข Develop and lead psychotherapygroup(s) and workshop(s);
โข Responsible for case management toinclude an analysis and synthesis of psychological data concerning clients;
โข Maintain ethical and timelydocumentation of all clinical work in electronic record keeping system.
โข The person holding this position isconsidered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and NeglectReporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements of CA state law.
Campus Outreach and Consultation:
โข Prepare and present mental healthoutreach and/or trainings to campus departments and offices;
โข Contribute to departmental program planningspecific to health promotion and prevention.
โข Respond to campus crises and serves as after-hours support whenDirector is unavailable.
โข Serve as liaison as assigned.
Other Functions: Weekly 15-20%
โข Actively participate in CounselingServices case conferences, trainings, and staff meetings;
โข Attend other Campus Health &Wellness or campus meetings as assigned;
โข Perform other job-related duties andspecial projects as assigned; and
โข As assigned and if licensed,supervise and assist in training of unlicensed clinicians.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Must be responsive to work-related phone calls and emails during non-business hours on occasion.
Required Qualifications:
REQUIRED SKILLS and EDUCATION: (Non-negotiable; minimum requirements, skills, experience, certifications)
โข Possession of a Master's degree in appropriate field and current licensure or associate licensure to practice in the State of California as an LPCC, LCSW, LMFT or AMFT,ACSW, APCC.

Compensation Type: Annual Salary
Salary Range: 76,627.20 - 78,967.00
