Job description

Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Job Title: 1:1 Paraprofessional / Behavior Technician (BT) – Elementary

Location: Hillsborough, CA
Job Type: Full-Time (Short-Term Contract)
Schedule: Monday – Friday (School Hours)
End Date: June 17 (End of School Year)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional or Behavior Technician (BT) to provide 1:1 support for elementary students through the end of the current school year. This role involves working closely with students in both special education and general education settings, with support and supervision from a BCBA.

Assignment Details

  • 1:1 position supporting students
  • Work with one student on Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • Work with a different student on Tuesday and Thursday
  • Classroom settings may include Special Day Class (SDC) or general education

Schedule

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:20 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Thursday (early dismissal): 8:20 AM – 1:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct 1:1 behavioral and academic support
  • Implement behavior intervention plans under BCBA supervision
  • Assist students with classroom participation and daily routines
  • Support transitions and promote positive behaviors
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and support team
  • Maintain documentation and follow school protocols

Qualifications

  • Open to Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Paraprofessionals
  • Previous experience working with children or in school settings preferred
  • Experience with behavioral support or ABA is a plus
  • Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with a team
  • Reliable, patient, and strong communication skills
