Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour (depending on experience).
Location: Chicago, IL
Starting Date: Seasonal position (This position is seasonal and follows the school district calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.)
Hours:

• Before Care Monday through Friday between 7 am to 9 am
• Recess Day Monday through Friday between 10 am to 1 pm
• After Care Monday through Friday between 2 pm to 6 pm

*Work schedules may vary and are subject to change based on assigned location, program enrollment, school schedules, and operational needs.

Apollo After School offers after-school care and enrichment clubs at local schools. We seek outgoing, personable, and reliable teachers for our school-based programs in the area. No degree? No problem! While a degree in education is highly valued, applicants with relevant experience or a related degree may be considered. • Provide a high-quality learning environment and manage activities that extend the school day;
• Assist in the implementation of classroom curriculum and weekly lesson plans when needed;
• Ensure the safety and security of children enrolled;
• Follow designated schedule and curriculum, maintain a routine for students;
• Effectively attract and retain students through enthusiasm, teaching skills, and patience;
• Assist with homework completion;

• Ability to command respect and cooperation in an elementary classroom.
• Confidence to run a classroom alone.
• A team player who can collaborate with peers.
• Ability to assess and solve problems associated with elementary-aged children.
• Ability to create and maintain a fun, caring, and responsive educational environment.
• Minimum of one year working with school-age youth, ages 4-10 in a school/after-school setting.
• Candidates must possess a current CPR and First Aid certification obtained through in-person training.
