Job description

Location: This position is based on-site in Lebanon, KY. Remote work is not available.
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
Employment Type: Full-Time
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering project schedules and capital investment projects.
  • Review new product designs and recommend improvements to enhance manufacturability and process performance.
  • Develop equipment and tooling specifications and oversee equipment installation, startup, and production trials.
  • Design and optimize injection molding and assembly processes to meet quality, delivery, cost, safety, and productivity targets.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, including PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, work instructions, risk assessments, and trial reports.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve process performance and reduce defects.
  • Support Kaizen and continuous improvement activities using Lean and TPS principles.
  • Design or specify End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Train and support technicians on new equipment, tooling, and processes.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Tooling, suppliers, and customers to support successful product launches and ongoing production.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with thermoplastics, injection molding processes, mold construction, and resin processing.
  • Knowledge of Scientific Injection Molding principles and automotive manufacturing standards.
  • Experience with robotics programming and automation systems (Fanuc, Star, or similar preferred).
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to develop Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), conduct design reviews, and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS), Lean Manufacturing, TS, and ISO requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.
Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and Visio)
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
  • 3D printing and basic fabrication tools
  • Injection molding equipment, automation, and robotics
Physical & Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production equipment.
  • Frequent standing and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Moderate noise levels with occasional exposure to heat and humid conditions.
  • Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.
