Familiarity with surveillance systems, incident reporting software, and sometimes security officer certification or a guard card is typically required. Strong observational skills, reliability, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for interacting with the public and responding to incidents. These competencies ensure safety, quick response to security issues, and a secure environment across multiple locations.
