Job description

Overview

The Custom Order Fulfillment position is responsible for picking, packing, and shipping various modes of orders including Business Sales, Installation Shipments, Wholesale, Motor Freight, and DFW employee orders. This department processes all non-parcel orders in a timely and efficient manner, collaborating closely with other departments within the company. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities

  • Handles the pull, sort, count, pack, build process of all Business to Business, Motor Freight, Wholesale, Installation and employee orders. 
  • Responsible for processing the more complex customer orders in the distribution center, including heavy/bulky picking and detailed packing and paperwork. 
  • Responsible for dispatching USPS, UPS and LTL shipments
  • Performs all work to 100% of engineered labor management standards, with an 85% utilization. 
  • Maintains clear, concise and professional communication and interactions
  • Collaborates closely with various departments within the company, including Business Sales and Customer Solutions Departments to ensure on-time delivery, order accuracy, and troubleshoot issues 
  • Maintains high level of professionalism in all communication with external business partners, freight forwarders and UPS, USPS and LTL drivers 
  • Partners with other areas within the distribution center, working collaboratively with system planners, supervisors, DC management and other 
  • Maintains discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Shows flexibility and willingness to work in other areas or types of work as needed by the business
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule, self-managing attendance to adhere to the written distribution center attendance policy

  • Strong computer skills:  proficiency in Outlook, Word and knowledge of Excel and with preferred knowledge of Warehouse Management System, MSC, and SCI
