Description:Fleet Mechanic - Diesel TechnicianMon-Fri: 8am-4:30pm Shift!Travel Available! (Rotational basis)Up To $28-$40 per hour! (Depending on experience)



Our Clarke Vehicare team is currently looking for a Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician to keep up our level of commitment to safety and customer service. In this role, the Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician will perform truck repair and maintenance in accordance with factory and industry standards and run diagnostics on vehicles. This fleet consists of heavy duty CNG powered trucks. Use of smartphone, laptop and tablet technology to record all repairs.

What are the Duties?

Essential Duties:

  • Repairs and maintains customer vehicles including heavy duty trucks.
  • Perform PMI's on CNG tractors.
  • Perform all types of engine, brake, drive train, electrical, and A/C repairs
  • Perform heavy duty chassis repair
  • Test drive vehicles over 26,000 GVW
  • Assist other technicians- Triage and assist with the work flow.
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Flexible shift with possible travel required

PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs with assistance. The associate must be able to read and write reports.
  • Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5+ years previous related experience/training REQUIRED
  • Must be available for possible travel work on a rotational basis
  • Must be able to obtain a DOT Med Card
  • Degree or Diesel Program Certificate from college or technical school Preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Valid Class B CDL is a PLUS or able to obtain CDL
  • Previous CNG experience is preferred
  • ASE Certifications are a PLUS
