GIS Geodatabase Engineer (Marine Corps Intelligence Activity)
Managing large datasets and maintaining secure systems is not just routine, but is mission-critical to the delivery of reliable intelligence supporting policymakers and troops across Combatant Commands.
As a GIS Geodatabase Engineer, you will be joining XTS’s mission-ready, efficient, and collaborative team supporting the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA). In this role, you will be working with Geospatial Support Services (GSS) technology, demonstrating your hybrid programming expertise and geospatial specialization to work within enterprise-scale geodatabases; automating database processes, conducting advanced spatial data modeling, and focusing on the hardening of the agency’s security processes, which altogether create an efficient, actionable intelligence database for precise decision-making and reliable product development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, the desired candidate must possess:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 12 years of relevant professional experience
    • 6 years of professional experience should include consistent familiarity with ESRI software
  • Department of Defense’s Cyber Workforce Framework qualification
  • Relevant Database Administrator certification (e.g. MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
  • ESRI Enterprise Geodata Management Professional certification
The desired candidate must also demonstrate:
  • Senior-level expertise in the design, implementation, security, and management of enterprise-scale geodatabases
    • This includes being a subject matter expert in ESRI geodatabase technology
  • Possession of strong Database Administrator proficiency in platforms like PostgreSQL and SQL Server
  • Senior-level Python and SQL proficiency to conduct automation of database processes, advanced spatial data modeling, performance optimization, and implementing robust backup and recovery procedures
