Job description

Overview Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Goldbelt Apex, a part of the Healthcare Technology Transformation Group, is a data-focused company dedicated to process and quality in every aspect. As experts in healthcare IT experts, Apex is committed to building systems for healthcare organizations to seamlessly communicate and exchange data across different systems and devices.

Summary: The Molecular Biology Senior Scientist designs and leads complex research programs on biological threat agents using systems biology, next-generation sequencing, and molecular assays to support medical countermeasure development. Leads research within the Molecular Biology Division focusing on host-pathogen interactions, therapeutic targets, and high-containment systems biology studies. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: * Lead experimental design and execution for molecular biology projects.

* Apply genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic technologies. * Interpret data and guide junior staff in research methodologies. * Collaborate with bioinformatics and translational teams.

* Present findings at internal and external scientific meetings. * W ill be expected to execute their assigned tasks, and to share their findings with other members of the project team. * Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: * Deep knowledge of NGS, qPCR, and transcriptomic analysis. * Scientific leadership and mentoring experience. * Familiarity with high-containment (BSL-2/3/4) practices.

* Effective technical writing and publication record. * S hall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of the life sciences and have desired experience working in a research laboratory. * S hall have demonstrated their subject matter expertise in a number of areas, and their ability to conduct team-based research through publication of several technical reports and/or peer-reviewed publications.

* Demonstrates experience in the development of medical products for licensure by the FDA. * Demonstrates experience managing a research laboratory, including technicians and other junior scientists . Minimum Qualifications: * Master's degree in molecular biology or related field.

* Minimum 6+ years in molecular biology or biomedical research. * A bility to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required . * E nroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required .

Preferred Qualifications: * ACTIVE SECRET is preferred * Ph.D. strongly preferred. Pay and Benefits The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 - $173,000.
