Job description

We are seeking an experienced Tool Maker to join a growing manufacturing team in Beaumont, CA. This is a direct hire opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in injection mold maintenance, repair, and tooling modifications. If you enjoy troubleshooting complex tooling issues and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on injection molds.
  • Diagnose and repair mold-related issues, including wear and damage.
  • Modify, repair, and fabricate mold components such as cores, cavities, and inserts.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble injection molds.
  • Verify mold dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
  • Operate manual machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Assist with mold installations and ensure proper mold operation.
  • Maintain tooling inventory and spare parts.
  • Coordinate outside tooling repair services as needed.
  • Build and assemble custom tools, fixtures, and internal tooling.
  • Support production by assisting with machine setups when required.
  • Complete maintenance reports and order tooling supplies as needed.
  • Operate overhead cranes safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school certification or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
  • Journeyman Tool & Die Certificate required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Tool Maker or Mold Maintenance experience in an injection molding environment.
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and mold construction.
  • Experience working with PVC and/or CPVC materials is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and tooling specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Proficient operating manual machine shop equipment including:
  • Lathe
  • Milling machine
  • Surface grinder
  • Drill press
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and move throughout a 12-hour shift.
  • Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and walking.
  • Manual dexterity for handling precision tooling and measuring components.
  • Strong math skills for measurements, calculations, and tooling tolerances.
