Job description

Electrical Technician
Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with a prominent client in Romulus, MI within the Construction Industry.
Electrical Technician Job Summary:
The Electrician will install and maintain the electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems throughout the facility and in the production of modular units. Works in conjunction with other skilled trades in manufacturing the modular units in a production facility.
Pay: $21-26/hour, based on experience
1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm, with occasional overtime as needed.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with employees concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the structure that needs to be built or repaired.
  • Estimates equipment, tool, and material requirements for each job.
  • Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in modular units.
  • Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
  • Ensures piping complies with electrical codes.
  • Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
  • Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building.
  • Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
  • Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
  • Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
  • Replaces circuit breakers as needed.
  • Operates all necessary tools to complete a job.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
  • Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects.
  • Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Electrical Technician Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or related field, completion of a formal apprenticeship program required, associate degree preferred.
  • Experience: Three years' experience as an electrician, previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Electricians license.

Other Requirements: Strong stakeholder service skills. Exceptional dedication to dependability and punctuality. Strong work ethic. Ability to engage a team toward a common mission.
Additional abilities required:
  • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
