Job description

Construction Mechanics Inc. is currently seeking experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics for commercial HVAC and ductwork projects throughout the Fort Pierce, FL area. This is a great opportunity for a motivated tradesperson looking for steady work and a respected employer in the mechanical and construction trades.

We’re looking for professionals who can fabricate, install, and modify sheet metal duct systems according to plans, specs, and code. Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or on a team.

Qualifications

  • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or on a team
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic
  • Skilled in layout, fabrication, and installation of duct systems
  • Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings and instructions
  • Must have own hand tools and appropriate PPE
  • Able to lift heavy materials and work on ladders or in tight spaces
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to job site safety

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, duct drawings, and mechanical plans
  • Measure, cut, and assemble ductwork using hand and power tools
  • Install rectangular, spiral, and flex duct systems for HVAC applications
  • Ensure proper support, sealing, and insulation of duct systems
  • Modify or fabricate fittings as needed to match field conditions
  • Install dampers, diffusers, grilles, and registers
  • Follow all job site safety procedures and OSHA standards
  • Operate shears, brakes, and other sheet metal fabrication equipment as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and materials on site
  • Collaborate with HVAC installers, pipefitters, and other trad
