Job description

Position: Electrical Engineer - Facilities VA Medical Center
Job Type: Full-Time, HYBRID
Location(s): Fargo VA Medical Center, 2101 Elm Street, Fargo, ND 58102-2417 Electrical Engineer (EE) to support Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades for the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Fargo VA Medical Center. The EE will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to the administration of construction, design/build, engineering and facilities management complex-construction projects. Services will include, but not limited to, pre-design phase services, design phase services, procurement phase services, construction services, claims services, administration services, and technical specialty services. REQUIRED Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must be eligible and able to pass a federal background check, as well as complete the necessary processes to receive a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge.
Must provide at a minimum, three (3) examples of projects that reflect the same, similar, or exceed the scale and difficulty of the Project. EDUCATION & YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
The Electrical Engineer must possess a degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher learning. The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction. Professional License, preferred. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Must have experience as a Construction/Project Manager and/or Owner’s Representative on construction projects of similar scale and difficulty. Medical facility expertise is a plus.
Work experience and completed projects shall be identified in the resume/credentials of the individual to show competency to undertake a rigorous construction program.
Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and master the requirements of local state and federal jurisdictions.
Demonstrated proficiency in Building Codes, permitting requirements, materials and methods and construction processes.
Experience in reviewing, preparing, and making professional recommendations on scope of work documents, submittals, and proposed changes.
Must have the capability of determining the value of acceptable work in place.
Must have experience in monitoring construction for Quality Assurance.
Must possess experience in preparing, analyzing, and identifying incongruities and deficiencies in the contractors’ work in relationship to construction documents.
Must possess communication, language, and software skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy. COMPENSATION
