About the role
As a Sr. Consulting Manager, Claims Modernization Project Manager, you will make an impact by leading a large-scale healthcare technology modernization program focused on claims transformation, delivery execution, stakeholder alignment, and program governance. You will be a valued member of the Consulting team and work collaboratively with business, technology, UX/UI, API development, vendor, and client stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead and manage a large-scale, multi-year healthcare claims modernization program across multiple cross-functional teams and workstreams.
  • Develop, maintain, and govern integrated project plans using Microsoft Project, including schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation.
  • Drive Agile delivery execution through sprint planning, backlog management, stakeholder reviews, Jira tracking, and program reporting.
  • Manage program financials, including budget planning, forecasting, tracking, and reporting to support alignment with program goals.
  • Provide executive-level program updates, Steering Committee presentations, and risk/issue mitigation recommendations to support timely decision-making.
Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this position requires 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Mason, OH. What you must have to be considered
  • Proven experience managing large, complex, multi-year enterprise transformation or modernization programs.
  • Strong project management experience using Microsoft Project to manage integrated plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and resources.
  • Experience leading Agile delivery execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, stakeholder reviews, and Jira-based tracking.
  • Experience managing project financials, including budget planning, forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to work onsite 3 days per week in Mason, OH.

  • Healthcare industry experience, particularly in payer, claims, compliance, or regulatory-driven environments.
  • Experience presenting program status, risks, and decisions to executive leadership and Steering Committees.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across business, technology, vendor, and client teams.
  • Experience collaborating with UX/UI, API development, and external vendor teams on modernization initiatives.

Compensation
$129,500 - $158,500
This position is eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
