Wamco is hiring a senior electrical engineer to be in charge of the development and design of new electrical/electronic products.
Summary of Duties:
  • Start to finish owner of electrical/electronic product development: define requirements in a technical specification, identify deliverables, design for ease of manufacture (including CAD layout, detailed schematics/drawings, bills of material, etc), component selection, modelling, simulation, testing using laboratory instrumentation and test equipment, documentation, reliability/qualification/certification validation in line with customer requirements, internal processes, as well as applicable regulatory requirements
  • Prepare conceptual studies and sketches that indicate pertinent design features, material, equipment, and specifications. Develop associated cost estimates and time schedule for customers proposals and bids
  • Work closely with other departments (sales, quality, and, supplier development) and interface with customer's engineering
  • Some travel required, both domestic and international

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Electrical Engineering Degree with 10 years of experience
  • Experience with electromechanical systems integration for EMC compliance
  • Thermal management and optic design are a plus
  • Proficient in the operation of electrical design software
  • Good work ethic
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Technical skills with aptitude to learn and understand customer technical requirements
