Position Summary
Underthe COSMIAC COMPNT contract, the Research Engineer 2 will contribute to Task 2(Reconfigurable Communications) and Task 6 (Satellite Navigation Modelling andSimulation). The work will involve developing and testing network optimizationstrategies that enhance communication robustness against real-world disruptionssuch as weather and system variability. Additionally, the Research Engineer 2 will assist in themodeling and simulation of satellite PNT constellations using MATLAB andSimulink tools to analyze network throughput and latency under variousenvironmental and operational conditions.

Conditions of Employment
- Professional Engineer (PE) may be required, depending upon field of expertise.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a directly related field; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline, to be completed by the date of appointment.
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Demonstrates the ability to work on classified government or defense-related projects immediately, without additional vetting.
- Experience leading a capstone team to develop an Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) for a 1U CubeSat, involving design reviews, optimization techniques, and PCB development.
- Hands-on Experience with CubeSat and ADCS Systems
- Proficiency in Programming and Modeling Tools
- Skilled in C++, Python, MATLAB, SysML, and systems modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler. Experience also includes Microsoft Office Suite, NetLogo, and Ubuntu.
- Research Experience in Aerospace and Autonomous Systems
- Experience working in multiple labs (MERS, MAGICC, AFRL), contributing to satellite deployment software, GNSS data communications, and DARPA HVT-2 system modeling using MBSE.
