Job description

 

The Position 

Seequent is a global leader in geothermal subsurface technology, offering a comprehensive suite of tools from geological to flow modelling. The Senior Reservoir Engineer role focuses on supporting go-to-market activities, building industry visibility, and providing technical expertise for our flow simulation solutions.

Working closely with the Segment Director, Energy, and the Technical Domain Expert, Reservoir Engineering, you will operate globally to drive awareness and adoption of Seequent's flow simulation software. You will mentor colleagues in this domain to support rapid growth in software sales through increased awareness and adoption, support customers in best practice application, and contribute directly to product strategy and roadmap development in collaboration with both customers and technology teams.

 In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

         Develop deep expertise in reservoir, wellbore, and surface network simulation using Volsung, and support customers with applying modelling tools in industry and research, including transferring models into Volsung.

         Share industry best practices to upskill Seequent staff, support product development, and strengthen Seequent's reputation within the industry.

         Build training modules, deliver how-to webinars, and provide specialist training to enhance understanding of flow simulation value and support high-quality product demonstrations of Volsung software.

         Evolve how flow simulation and its outputs are delivered to the geothermal industry by identifying changing market needs. Promote the value of an integrated approach to geothermal resource assessment by integrating Seequent's wider technology suite (Leapfrog, Oasis Montaj, Central, Imago etc.) with reservoir simulation.

         Collaborate with marketing, engage with industry bodies, and present at relevant events to strengthen messaging and increase visibility of Seequent's solutions.

To be successful in this role, you should have: 

         10 years of experience in Geothermal reservoir engineering / modelling

         A master's degree or higher in geoscience, engineering, mathematics, physics or related discipline

         Experience writing journal/conference papers and presenting work in public forums (e.g. Conferences).

         Experience with Volsung is advantageous, as is familiarity with TOUGH or Eclipse.

         A proven ability to mentor and provide training in an internal and external settings.

         Multiple languages are advantageous.

         The ability to deal with ambiguity and a changing environment, as well as a rapid work pace.

         A collaborative mindset. Focusing on the market, product fit and sales, you will work across the entire Seequent team: Product Strategy, key sector stakeholders, Development and other external parties including business partners.

         Must possess the ability to be persistent, patient, innovative, and work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.

 Additional Information

This role can be based in one of our offices across North America or Europe, including Calgary, Denver, Houston, Vancouver, Delft, or Reading, and requires domestic and international travel for client visits, events, and engagement with internal teams or workshops.

As a global position, some work outside standard business hours may be required to engage with internal or external groups across different time zones.
