Job description

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented applicants for the role of Temporary Chauffeur in our Core Services Department. The ideal candidate performs duties related to the transport of persons, supplies, and mail, etc., to various locations. Candidate would also perform minor preventative maintenance to motor vehicles, such as checking tire pressure and battery, oil, gas, fluid levels and performs other related duties as described below. Assignments may not be consistent from day-to-day; therefore, candidate must be flexible and willing to perform the assigned duties as outlined below.

Schedule: This is a full time (40 hours) position, Monday through Friday with Saturday, and Sunday off

Please Note:  This is a temporary position to cover an employee on sick leave. The duration of this position will cease when this position is no longer required


Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):

  • Transport patients/clients to and from scheduled medical appointments. Transports patients and staff for interview placements in the community.
  • Transports documents, parcels, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Transports staff to off-site meetings
  • Maintains vehicle mileage logs, maintenance and repair records, and submits monthly documentation.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of vehicles- inside and out.
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance to motor vehicles, such as checking tire pressure and battery, oil, gas, and fluid levels.
  • Schedules regular maintenance such as oil changes, inspection stickers, and other necessary repairs, with contracted service providers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate light motor vehicles
  • Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class 3 Motor Vehicle Operator's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency

Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
