Job description

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline. Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree, or two additional years for a non-STEM degree.
  • 12+ years of experience supporting government or industry programs involving large, complex System of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture environments.
  • Experience performing modeling, simulation, and analysis within cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of developing and utilizing tools within cloud environments.
  • TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain SCI adjudication and successfully pass a polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, and languages.
  • 12+ years of Operations Research experience.
  • Experience applying machine learning techniques to modeling and analytical solutions.
  • Experience performing modeling, simulation, and analysis using cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience performing modeling, simulation, and analysis using structured and unstructured Big Data.
  • Experience supporting solutions that leverage automation, augmentation, and artificial intelligence technologies.

We are seeking a Senior Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) Engineer to support NGA's mission by developing and applying advanced modeling, simulation, and analytical capabilities across complex enterprise environments. In this role, you will help shape the future of GEOINT by evaluating system architectures, analyzing performance, and developing data-driven recommendations that support mission-critical decision making.

As a senior technical leader, you will collaborate with engineers, analysts, business stakeholders, and warfighters while providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

System Modeling & Architecture
  • Develop and guide the use of complex models, simulations, tools, and algorithms to identify trends and patterns across large-scale datasets.
  • Model NGA architectures, system requirements, and performance while aligning solutions with NGA and National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) strategies and the future vision for GEOINT.
  • Evaluate system performance across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
Analysis & Decision Support
  • Lead analysis of alternatives, performance assessments, and design trade studies to evaluate new technologies and capabilities.
  • Develop deployment recommendations based on modeling and simulation results within existing NSG architectures and cloud environments.
  • Provide analytical insight that supports mission planning, system modernization, and enterprise decision-making.
Technical Leadership
  • Serve as a senior technical resource supporting modeling, simulation, and analysis initiatives across NGA programs.
  • Mentor and guide Mid- and Junior-level Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and mission stakeholders to ensure solutions support operational and business objectives.

Location: This position is fully onsite in Chantilly or Springfield, VA
