Director of Sales & Operational Planning

Salary Range: $180,000.00 To $220,000.00 Annually

Key Responsibilities Demand and Capacity Planning
  • Own development and continuous improvement of demand forecasting models across customer segments, instrument types, and service categories
  • Deliver and maintain rolling demand and capacity outlooks:
    • Short-term
    • Medium-term
    • Long-term
  • Incorporate seasonality, growth trends, and customer behavior into forecasts
  • Develop and refine capacity planning frameworks incorporating technician availability, specialization constraints, service standards, and geographic considerations
  • Identify structural gaps between demand and capacity and drive system-level recommendations (hiring, cross‑training, process changes, capacity rebalancing)
Efficiency and Productivity Modeling
  • Own analysis of TAT variability and its systemic drivers
  • Drive initiatives that improve on-time delivery and predictability
Turnaround Time Predictability
  • Build and own scenario models to support:
    • Cross‑training strategies
    • Workload balancing across sites
    • Capacity expansion and efficiency improvement scenarios
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership
Cross‑Functional Planning and Alignment
  • Own and drive structured demand and capacity review
  • Continuously improve planning processes, tools, and data quality
Qualifications
  • 7-15 years of progressive experience in operations planning, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or capacity management.
  • Strong systems thinking and analytical rigor
  • Experience in multi‑site or distributed operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build systems (not just analyze them)
  • Proven ability to influence across functions
  • Can operate on a daily, weekly and monthly cadence
  • High ownership mindset with willingness to be deeply hands‑on
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Proven analytical problem‑solving skills and a data‑driven decision‑making mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and modeling required; experience with Power BI or similar tools preferred
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field required.

MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Primarily office-based environment with periodic travel to operational sites as needed.
