We're hiring for our Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, and Eau Claire, WI offices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in stormwater management, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling/design. This role focuses on roadway and site drainage, playing a key role in sustainable water resource management across JT's municipal, transportation, and site development projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop stormwater management systems (detention/retention ponds, infiltration systems, conveyance channels) ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to assess water flow, flood risks, and drainage capacity using HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate water resource solutions into transportation and site development projects
  • Prepare and review environmental reports, permits, and impact assessments, ensuring regulatory adherence and sustainability
  • Lead and manage water resource projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination
  • Serve as the primary client contact, providing technical expertise, ensuring project goals, and supporting proposal preparation
  • Conduct site inspections and oversee construction to ensure design specifications are met
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, applying innovative solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff in water resource engineering
  • Adhere to internal Quality Control processes to ensure accuracy and compliance

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university, emphasis on Water Resources or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in water resources engineering, emphasizing stormwater management
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM)
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS software
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal water regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in watershed planning, floodplain management, green infrastructure, LID practices, and SWPPP (preferred)
  • ENV SP or other sustainability certifications (a plus)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Authorized to work permanently in the country
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for work or professional development
