Position               : Finance Analyst

Location               : San Jose or Bay Area, CA Hybrid - as needed; must support PST hours, local will surely preferred.

Role Overview

We’re partnering with a Confidential Fortune 50 hyperscale cloud & data center provider to hire a Strategic Pursuits Finance Analyst who thrives in ambiguity and cross-functional work. You’ll refine operating models and documentation (“Strategic Pursuits Playbook”), streamline reporting, and deliver the insights leaders need to greenlight complex, multi-year infrastructure deals.

This role is ideal for a self-starter who can translate complex financials into clear, actionable strategy and manage multiple workstreams across Finance, Legal, Sales, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Playbook & Process Optimization
    • Review and update the Strategic Pursuits Finance Playbook
    • Document SOPs for deal modeling, risk assessment, approvals, and governance
  • Advanced Reporting & Analytics
    • Build and maintain dashboards, trackers, and performance reports
    • Analyze KPIs, trends, and variances; surface opportunities for improvement
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as a liaison across Finance, Sales, Operations, Strategy
    • Synthesize and present findings, progress, and recommendations to leadership
  • Strategic Financial Modeling
    • Build/refine what‑if and scenario models for new pursuits and long-term investments
    • Support deal desk rigor across pricing, risk, and commercial terms
  • Ad‑Hoc Projects
    • Deep dives on market trends, competitive positioning, resource allocation, and peak planning cycles

Required Qualifications

  • 6–8 years in Strategic Finance, FP&A, or Management Consulting
  • Technical Excellence:
    • Advanced spreadsheet modeling (Excel/Sheets) and SQL
    • Experience with a cloud data warehouse (e.g., BigQuery/Snowflake/Redshift)
    • Comfort with financial visualization tools (e.g., Looker/Power BI/Tableau)
  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to condense large datasets into crisp executive‑level summaries without losing nuance
  • Communication: Exceptional written/verbal skills; can tell the story behind the numbers for non‑finance audiences
  • Operating Style: Highly adaptiveindependent, and organized across multiple fast‑moving workstreams
  • Process/Documentation: Prior success in Playbook creation or formal process documentation
  • Deal Desk Experience: Exposure to cross‑functional deal approval and governance
