WORK SCHEDULE: Short-Term-Hourly/Professional Experts - Monday - Thursday: 7:30 am - 6:00 pm Friday: 7:30 am-11:30 am (Exact work schedule to be determined by supervisor based on department needs and college hours of operation.) Temporary employees may only work up to 25 hours a week (not to exceed 100 hours per month), total not to exceed 999 hours for a total of 100 days. (Days are counted regardless of # of hours worked per day)
DESCRIPTION
BASIC FUNCTION:
Professional Expert - Temporary, Short-Term Assignment: Under the direction of a Visual and Performing Arts Faculty member the Model will either pose nude or in costume in the classroom to contribute to the learning and creative processes of students in the areas of drawing, painting, photography and sculpture.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
  • Creates suitable, interesting, sustained poses (either undraped or draped), as directed by the instructor.
  • Performs creative gesture poses and sustains them for varying periods of time (i.e. 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.) as required by the instructor, for up to 20 minutes.
  • Provides creative costuming and props for appropriate class/assignment
  • Maintains professional appearance, demeanor, and willingness to work cooperatively in the classroom at all times.
  • Maintains good personal hygiene.
  • Provides sheet, towel, timer, robe, slippers, and masking tape for every class.
  • Develops interesting pose repertoire through a variety of resources such as articles, books, and videos.
  • Communicates directly with instructor regarding length and style of pose and costuming as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school. Must be 18+ years old. Previous figure modeling experience preferred but not required. Experience in sports, dance, theater, yoga or other forms of stylized movement is very helpful.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
  • Appropriate health and safety, standards.

ABILITY TO:
  • Follow instructions for a pose from the instructor
  • Hold still for 20 minutes at a time
  • Be comfortable in their skin
  • Be agile
  • Adhere to a time commitment to the hours of the assigned class

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • Ability to exert some physical effort, such as walking, climbing, standing, reaching, pulling, lifting 20 lbs., bending and twisting.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Most work is performed indoors. Occasionally a costumed model may be asked to pose outside under natural light conditions. Hours will fluctuate depending on class schedules
