Core Job Responsibilities: 

The Host/Hostess is the forefront of any restaurant operation. This position is the first and last person a guest will interact with in the restaurant. Therefore, this position creates a lasting impression with all guests, and it is imperative that this impression is positive, gracious and professional. Most importantly, the Host/Hostess/Reservationist position will be supervising and coordinating the flow of the dining room and reservation book. Being such an important role within the restaurant, it is imperative that there be constant communication with the kitchen and restaurant managers, which is the key to a successful service.

Primary Job Duties: – Includes, but is not limited to:

  • Greet, interact, entertain and serve guests courteously and in a timely manner with an upbeat attitude graciously say goodbye to all guests and extend an invitation to return to visit soon.
  • Anticipate Guest needs and respond to all guest inquiries, requests, directions and information in a courteous and polite manner.
  • Always go above and beyond to accommodate guests’ special requests.
  • Oversee daily restaurant reservations, pre-assign seating when and where necessary.
  • Communicate with management regarding special requests – responsible for conveying all such information to management.
  • Response to restaurant telephone calls courteously, quickly and efficiently (within three rings).
  • Escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; presentation/knowledgeable on QR code menus and extend pleasantries.
  • Ensure to close podium and forward phones to proper extension at end of shift.
  • Work as a team, assist all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.
  • Always maintain positive guest relations.
  • Resolve guest complaints when possible, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Be familiar with all features and local attractions as well as all features and attractions within Venetian property to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities, in-house groups, daily house count, table/seat/station numbers/ proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code of the restaurant.
  • Participate in in-house modeling programs, special casino events, banquet service functions, marketing campaigns and advertising and performs model/presenter tasks.
  • Assist in the development of promotional plans to increase business levels and sales.
  • Pose for pictures as requested by management, appear in uniform or designated (logo) apparel for promotional activities at or away from venue. Participate in marketing, publicity, or media materials.
  •  Marketing and promoting Sushi Bar and Speakeasy events both on property and on     Social Media platforms
  •  Maintain social platforms as indicated by management and participate in marketing campaigns via social media
  • Ability to submit guests to the venues guest list, table reservations and focus on the development of personal clientele list. 
  • Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
