Mobile Vascular Access Rn Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Vellum Health is seeking an experienced and dependable Mobile Vascular Access Nurse to provide specialized vascular access services at skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities, and other contracted healthcare locations.

This position requires independent travel to assigned facilities and the ability to provide safe, timely, and professional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Insert PICC lines, midlines, and ultrasound-guided peripheral IVs within the nurse’s training and validated competencies.
• Assess patients and determine appropriate vascular access based on the provider’s order, prescribed therapy, vessel health, and patient needs.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot vascular access devices, including occlusions, leaking, migration, dislodgement, and other complications.
• Follow sterile technique, infection-prevention practices, and all applicable clinical standards.
• Educate patients and facility staff regarding vascular access care and potential complications.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical, mileage, travel, and procedural documentation.
• Communicate professionally with facility staff, providers, dispatch, and Vellum management.
• Maintain company-issued equipment and supplies and report safety concerns, incidents, or equipment problems promptly.
• Manage assignments efficiently while keeping dispatch and management informed of delays or changes in availability.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state where services will be performed.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Documented training and competency in the vascular access procedures performed.
• Experience with PICC, midline, and ultrasound-guided IV placement preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required automobile insurance.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
• Comfortable using electronic documentation, mobile applications, email, and navigation systems.
• Professional communication and strong time-management skills.
• Must be willing and able to drive extended distances throughout the assigned service area. Long-distance travel is an essential function of this mobile position, and assignments may require significant daily mileage.

Scheduling Requirements

Availability may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call coverage depending on the position and operational needs. Daily assignment volume, travel distance, and completion times may vary.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to transport equipment and supplies, stand for extended periods, perform fine-motor clinical procedures, and work in a variety of healthcare environments.
