Title: Senior UI Designer
Location: Remote, San Diego, CA (Preferred)
Duration: 6 Months with possibilities of extension and conversion to full time
Hours: Generally 9 - 5 depending on time zone, overtime possible
Travel Required: 5-15%

Description:
Where you come in:
  • You are an expert in UI and Visual design.
  • Drive aesthetically strong execution of our mobile products.
  • Utilize and contribute to client's Design System.
  • Shape and contribute to the UI design strategy to define and elevate the quality bar across the client portfolio, design the visual experience across iOS/Android/Web and companion surfaces (e.g., watch/receiver or multi-device experiences where applicable), ensuring platform-native fidelity.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary designers, developers, stakeholders, andpartners across the client portfolio.
  • Ensure that designs are implemented as intended across iOS, Android, Web apps, and other devices through collaboration with development engineers.
  • Present design proposals with confidence, seek to inform and influence the audience.
  • Learn from team members and mentor other designers through craft feedback, visual critique, and hands-on collaboration.
  • Be a design diplomat and socialize ideas with stakeholders and design partners to gain alignment and willing to compromise to find a mutually agreeable solution.
  • Be a positive influence on our culture, bulit up our teams, departments, and company through words and actions, be welcoming of feedback and respectful disagreement.
  • Own the results and be accountable for the project and design decisions.

What makes you successful:
  • You bring in strong visual design skills and a sharp eye for UI aesthetics.
  • You have extensive experience driving visual design for native mobile apps leveraging Material Design and iOS HIG.
  • Strong understanding of platform-specific design patterns, performance considerations, and deployment workflows.
  • You have experience working with design systems, both as a user and contributor.
  • You are proficient in Figma.
  • Basic understanding of Swift or other programming languages to effectively communicate with developers is a plus.
  • You thrive in a highly collaborative, fluid, fast-paced environment.
  • You have a proven ability managing schedules, prioritizing tasks, and working within deadlines.
  • Experience with WCAG accessibility guidelines are a plus

  • Position supports the Visual Design Team.
  • Team is responsible for the look and feel of the software.
  • Works closely with the Brand Team to ensure products are visually appealing and communicate the intended message.
  • Looking for candidates with a strong UI/Visual Design background.
  • Strong visual design portfolio showcasing high-quality UI work is essential.
  • Health & wellness, or medical device experience is preferred, but not mandatory.

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 4-6 years related experience
  • Experience with WCAG accessibility guidelines are a plus.

Portfolio Expectations
  • Portfolio is a major factor in the hiring decision.

Design System
  • Strong experience with Design Systems is important.
  • UI designers contribute new visual patterns and components to the Design System.
  • Design System and UI teams work closely together

Required Skills
  • You have proven experience in shipping native mobile products (iOS/Android), beyond responsive web or hybrid apps
  • You bring in strong visual design skills and a sharp eye for UI aesthetics.
  • You have extensive experience driving visual design for native mobile apps leveraging Material Design and iOS HIG.
  • Figma Experience

You must be able to manage schedules, prioritize work, communicate tradeoffs, and meet deadlines.
