Security Officers – ADOC Hospital & Correctional Facility Assignments

Blue Life Security is hiring Security Officers and Armed Security Officers for multiple assignments throughout Alabama.

We are building security teams to provide coverage at correctional facilities and associated hospital assignments throughout the state. We are seeking dependable, professional security officers who are prepared to work in healthcare and correctional environments and provide reliable coverage for scheduled, relief, and on-call assignments.

PAY

  • Unarmed Security Officer: $17.00/hour
  • Armed Security Officer: $19.00/hour
  • Talladega / Citizens Hospital Fixed Post: $17.50/hour – Unarmed Only

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Security Officers may be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, visitors and individuals in custody
  • Monitoring assigned areas and maintaining professional security presence
  • Following post orders, facility procedures and client instructions
  • Controlling access and monitoring activity as assigned
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies and security incidents
  • Completing incident reports and required documentation
  • Maintaining accurate shift logs
  • Following correctional custody and healthcare security procedures
  • Applying crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques
  • Assisting with contraband and escape-prevention procedures
  • Protecting confidential information and following HIPAA/privacy requirements
  • Maintaining professional communication with hospital and correctional facility personnel
  • Remaining attentive and prepared throughout the assigned shift

Candidates must already be fully licensed/certified and immediately eligible to work security assignments in Alabama.

Unarmed Security Officer

  • Minimum age: 18
  • Must possess a current, active Alabama Security Regulatory Board (ASRB) Security Officer license
  • License must be current and in good standing
  • Must have current required training
  • Must be able to provide proof of current licensing/certification
  • Must be able to pass the required ADOC background approval and pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be physically capable of prolonged standing and working in stressful or potentially dangerous situations
  • Must be dependable, professional and able to follow detailed post orders and client procedures

Armed Security Officer

  • Minimum age: 21
  • Must possess a current, active Alabama Security Regulatory Board (ASRB) Armed Security Officer license
  • Must already be firearm-certified
  • Must possess a current, valid pistol permit
  • Armed credentials must be current and in good standing
  • Must have current required training
  • Must be able to provide proof of current licensing/certification
  • Must be able to pass the required ADOC background approval and pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be physically capable of prolonged standing and working in stressful or potentially dangerous situations
  • Must be dependable, professional and able to follow detailed post orders and client procedures

Important – Fully Certified Candidates Only

Blue Life Security is seeking candidates who are already fully licensed/certified. We are not accepting applicants who are waiting for their initial ASRB license, firearm certification, or other required credentials.

Candidates must have the appropriate active ASRB license for the position they are applying for. For ADOC assignments, the required licensing, background clearance, drug screening and training requirements must be satisfied before deployment.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE & TRAINING

Before deployment to an ADOC assignment, selected candidates must complete the required clearance process, which may include:

  • Alabama Security Regulatory Board licensing verification
  • ADOC pre-employment background approval
  • Pre-employment drug screening
  • Required security training
  • ADOC-provided PREA training
  • Healthcare safety training
  • Correctional custody procedures
  • Crisis prevention and de-escalation training
  • Contraband and escape prevention training
  • HIPAA/privacy responsibilities
  • Incident reporting procedures
  • Firearms training and credentials for armed assignments

ADOC clearance must be documented before a guard is deployed to an assignment.
