Job description

Centered in the heart of Yuba-Sutter County, Adventist Health and Rideout has been one of the area's leading healthcare providers since 1907. Job Summary:

Participates in all aspects of disaster response, including triage, stabilization, definitive care and evacuation of patients. Delivers basic, advanced and critical care life support to patients in response to a disaster.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
  • Critical Care Unit or Emergency Department experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required

Department Specific License/Certifications:

  • Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN): Required
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC): Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
  • AHA-PALS: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Triages all hospital-to-hospital and critical care patient transports. Provides critical care to seriously ill and/or injured patients, works with the transport team, paramedics, physicians, other nurses, and hospital and pre-hospital personnel.
  • Provides care to patients suffering from critical injuries or illnesses and patients living through a disaster. Monitors all patients assigned to his/her care. Provides patients and their families with any assistance when requested.
  • Develops disaster policies and comprehensive plans, conducts and evaluates preparedness and response drills, exercises and trainings.
  • Ensures the development and maintenance of positive working relationships with medical team members, affiliated and referring institutions, pre-hospital personnel and the medical community. Keeps abreast of current trends in emergency and critical care nursing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
