Department: Lab - Donor Svs

Work Type: Full Time

Shift: Shift 1/6:00:00 AM to 6:00:00 PM / Will be required to work every other weekend

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$20.00 - $23.50 / hour

SummaryThe Blood Center Technician I is responsible for drawing blood from volunteer blood donors. Duties include interacting with prospective donors, providing information about blood donation, screening donors by conducting a mini-physical and a medical history interview, drawing blood according to specific procedures, administering post-donation care. Completes detailed documents and records pertaining to the donation. Performs daily quality control for each drive site. Other duties include preparing work areas and blood mobile for blood collection and restocking supplies. Clerical duties include registration of donor cards, phone reception, operation of office equipment such as fax machines, copy machines, and printers, in additional to basic computer skills in the Blood Bank computer system. The Blood Center Technician for the Mobile sites may drive the blood mobile to blood drives and maintains appropriate vehicle logs.Requirements

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 months of phlebotomy experience required.

Certification: N/A

License: Current valid drivers license.

Must have a clean driving record and be 21 years of age or older.

Other: Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, problem solve and work independently. Basic knowledge of computer data entry and retrieval.
