What is a mobile massage therapist?

A mobile massage therapist is a licensed professional who travels to clients’ homes, offices, or other locations to provide massage therapy services. Instead of clients visiting a spa or clinic, the therapist brings all necessary equipment, such as a massage table, oils, and linens, to the client’s location. This service offers clients convenience, privacy, and flexibility, making it ideal for those with busy schedules or mobility issues. Mobile massage therapists may offer a range of massage styles, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, or relaxation massages.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a mobile massage therapist?

To thrive as a Mobile Massage Therapist, you need a solid understanding of anatomy, massage techniques, and a recognized massage therapy certification or license. Familiarity with booking and scheduling software, payment processing tools, and portable massage equipment is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, professionalism, and adaptability are crucial for building client trust and delivering personalized services in diverse environments. These skills ensure client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the ability to maintain a strong, flexible practice outside of traditional spa settings.

What are some common challenges mobile massage therapists face when working in clients’ homes or offices?

Mobile massage therapists often navigate unique challenges, such as transporting equipment, adapting to various environments, and ensuring client comfort and privacy outside of a traditional spa setting. At LiceDoctors, we are passionate about providing families with safe, effective, and natural lice treatment in the comfort of their homes. We are more than just a lice removal service-we bring peace of mind and relief to families during stressful times, and our caring, professional technicians are at the heart of that mission. As a company, we're also deeply rooted in giving back to the community through volunteering, supporting domestic violence shelters, and staying active in local outreach. But it's not just about the clients-we're committed to creating a rewarding and supportive environment for our team. We offer flexibility, great pay, and a team that values your contribution!
DIVE INTO YOUR DAY
As our Head Lice Removal Technician, you'll be trained in our 100% all-natural lice removal process, which works every time! A typical appointment lasts about 2 - 2 ½ hours, during which you'll:
  • Remove all lice and nits from your client's hair with precision and care.
  • Educate the family on lice prevention and treatment techniques so they feel confident moving forward.
  • Be a calming presence in an anxious household, turning what feels like a nightmare into a stress-free experience.

As our part-time Head Lice Removal Technician, you control your availability. You can choose how many appointments you take, anytime between 7 AM and midnight. We only ask that you commit to working a minimum of 2 shifts or 8 hours a week, making this an ideal opportunity for those seeking flexibility! (The number of jobs you receive during your provided availability will vary based on market demand).

  • 18+ years old
  • Ability to perform hands-on, repetitive tasks
  • Reliable transportation

  • Pleasant, articulate, patient, and confident

Bonus points if you've worked in the hair or medical fields, but it's not required. What's most important is that you have a positive attitude and enjoy working with families! This job requires similar physical motions to that of a hairstylist. You'll often be working with moms, dads, and caregivers, guiding them through the process like a professional assistant. Many of our technicians actually say that this job is used as a "relaxing stress reliever" for them. We provide paid training to ensure you're fully prepared, so no experience is necessary to become our part-time Head Lice Removal Technician!
