Lighting Controls Specialist


CTA Lighting & Controls is seeking a motivated and organized Lighting Controls Specialist to support and grow our lighting controls business. This role blends sales support, field technical expertise, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing customer service.

If you enjoy hands-on technical work, solving problems in the field, and building strong customer relationships — this is a great opportunity to grow within a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Support lighting controls projects from pre-sale through commissioning
  • Provide field startup, programming, and troubleshooting assistance
  • Assist customers and contractors with technical questions
  • Collaborate with internal sales and project teams
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Travel regionally (limited overnight stays)

What We’re Looking For

  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and wiring methods
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field
  • Customer-focused with strong communication skills
  • Comfortable learning new lighting control technologies
  • Proficient with computers and mobile technology
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred (But Not Required)

  • Experience with lighting control systems such as WaveLinx by Cooper Lighting Solutions
  • Field commissioning or electrical contracting experience
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Construction Management, or related field
