About Hyp-tro Pro

Hyp-tro Pro is a growing division of Hyp-tro Building Services, LLC, providing professional electrical, HVAC, plumbing, maintenance, repair, and building service solutions for residential, commercial, government, and facility clients. We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrician to support electrical service calls, installations, repairs, inspections, and field operations.

Position Summary

The Lead Electrician will be responsible for leading electrical work in the field, supervising helpers or junior technicians, completing quality installations, troubleshooting electrical issues, and ensuring work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and project requirements.

The ideal candidate is dependable, skilled, organized, safety-focused, and able to represent Hyp-tro Pro professionally with clients, inspectors, property managers, project managers, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Electrician will:

  • Lead and perform electrical installations, repairs, replacements, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Install and service wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, lighting, receptacles, switches, disconnects, transformers, generators, and other electrical components.
  • Review work orders, project scopes, drawings, specifications, and site conditions before starting work.
  • Supervise apprentices, helpers, and labor support when assigned.
  • Ensure electrical work is completed safely, correctly, and in accordance with applicable codes and permit requirements.
  • Identify material needs, labor requirements, safety concerns, and potential change order conditions.
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, building engineers, property managers, vendors, and clients.
  • Complete accurate field documentation, including photos, service notes, material lists, labor hours, and completion reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials are properly used, secured, and maintained.
  • Represent Hyp-tro Pro with professionalism, strong communication, and excellent customer service.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4–6 years of electrical field experience preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred; Master Electrician license is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of residential, commercial, and facility electrical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and recommend practical repair solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, work orders, specifications, and code requirements.
  • Experience installing conduit, wiring, panels, lighting, devices, and electrical equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass background checks where required for government, school, commercial, or secured facilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with commercial buildings, government contracts, schools, multifamily properties, or facility maintenance.
  • Experience leading crews or supervising electrical helpers.
  • Low-voltage, fire alarm, security, access control, or data cabling experience is a plus.
  • Generator, EV charger, lighting retrofit, service upgrade, or panel replacement experience.
  • Familiarity with mobile work orders, service software, photo documentation, and digital reporting.

Work Environment

This position may require work in residential properties, commercial buildings, electrical rooms, mechanical rooms, construction sites, rooftops, government facilities, and occupied client spaces. The Lead Electrician must be able to lift materials, climb ladders, use hand and power tools, work in tight spaces, and follow all jobsite safety requirements.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, licensing, availability, and project requirements. Hyp-tro Pro may offer full-time, part-time, subcontractor, or project-based opportunities depending on business needs and candidate qualifications.
