SEEKING AMMONIA REFRIGERATION TECHNICIANS
***SALARY is NEGOTIABLE depending on experience***
As an AMMONIA REFRIGERATION TECHNICIANS, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of HVAC/R equipment for our industrial and commercial customers, through daily service maintenance, performing diagnostic reviews and identifying the root cause for any needed repairs. You will work closely with each customer to discuss work performed, review repair quotes for approval, and convey preventative maintenance measures that should be done that would increase efficiency and decrease costs for the customer.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • 3+ year experience in servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting with Ammonia systems and units or equivalent education in trade school or apprenticeship required
  • Prior experience working with commercial or industrial HVAC/R or ammonia, or electrical mechanics preferred
  • Proven ability to troubleshooting and problem solving with a strong sense of urgency, initiative and drive required
  • Openness to learn something new every day in a fast-paced environment required
  • EPA HVAC/R certified a plus
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • College or Technician Certification in HVAC/R or Refrigeration a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency using hand tools, electrical schematics, & reading drawings a plus
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
Within the first 30 days and ongoing:
• Learns C&L Refrigeration's core values, services, processes, procedures, & safety protocols.
• Completes orientation on safety policies and expectations, scheduling with the Dispatcher, billing for vendors and parts shops & policies for operating work vans.
• Learns how to navigate Ascente Mobile Pro software for all job and customer forms.
• Shadows the Field Supervisor, Safety Manager, and experienced technicians daily for hands on training on different jobs sites; learning different jobs and accounts, different equipment, and how to look at different maintenance and repair requests.
• Displays a learning mindset and eagerness to dive into different jobs each day.
• By 30 days, has completed standard service maintenance jobs on up to 1 ton equipment on your own, interacting with the customer, performing the appropriate maintenance, and sharing recommendations for any additional service/updates needed.
3 months and ongoing:
• Is independent in the role, working closely with the Dispatcher daily on your schedule, and completing service calls to different job sites and customers, working on 1-5 ton equipment.
• Completes thorough diagnostic checks at every job; reviewing all compressors, motors, delta split on return/supply, laser signatures, etc. to ensure, the unit is in the best condition possible.
• Continues to maintain the utmost rigor regarding OSHA and C&L safety standards while driving and at each job site.
• Provides exceptional customer service and communication by updating customers on the findings and outcomes of maintenance and/or repairs, building trust and credibility.
• Ensures your truck is stocked with the common tools needed in advance of visiting different jobs, e.g., rags, degreasers, contactors, wire nuts, etc. and understands the purchasing process when specific parts are required to purchase from vendors and/or parts shops.
6 - 9 months and ongoing:
• Is working on 5-15 ton units from start to finish, meticulously documenting all job efforts for review and signature from the customer, while maintaining communication with the Dispatcher and customers when schedules and plans shift and change with calmness, professionalism, and sincerity to do what is best for the customer.
• Has developed strong trusting relationships with customers and is performing preventative maintenance measures and bringing the customer concerns or potential issues and how to prevent those, generating more work for yourself.
• Demonstrates the ability to handle customer issues and concerns in a professional manner that upholds the strong reputation of C&L Refrigeration while satisfying the customer's needs.
12 months and ongoing:
• Is seen as a knowledgeable and technical problem solver who constantly is seeking to maintain a strong reputation with customers through quality service, maintenance, and communication.
• Is reliable and dependable, displaying a technical mindset, while working on 20-40 ton units and is eager to tackle daily tasks. Is always thinking ahead for every job; arriving on time, having all tools outside of the van ready to go, with the highest regard for safety.
• Displays a team mindset, always willing to help fellow technicians, train and answer questions as new hires join the team and be a go-to resource when needed.
