Job description

GENERAL OVERALL PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Responsible for driving store truck for donation pickups, store merchandise logistics to/from storage, loading customer purchases and general upkeep/cleanliness around the store. Maintains Christian atmosphere in the tradition of Saint Vincent DePaul. Conveys a friendly and courteous attitude when interfacing with customers. Retail experience not required.

Duties

  • Safely operate a box truck or personal vehicle for donation pickups, deliveries, and material transport, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
  • Load, unload, and secure donations or store supplies using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with all driving laws and regulations
  • Support sorting and inventory of donated items and Assist with store maintenance tasks including moving furniture, shelving, or other heavy items using proper manual lifting practices and equipment
  • Perform minor repairs or handyman duties around the store premises to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
  • Use mobile devices or GPS systems to navigate routes efficiently and document delivery or pickup activities accurately
  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging positively with donors, customers, and team members during deliveries or store assistance.

  • Customer Service--Providing excellent customer service to all store visitors/customers creating a positive image for the Store and minimizing customer complaints.
  • Must be reliable and prompt.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, delivery driving, or commercial truck driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating box trucks or similar vehicles
  • Demonstrated ability to handle manual lifting, heavy loads, and moving equipment safely while following safe lifting practices
  • Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and adherence to traffic laws during route driving
  • Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks is preferred
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Ability to perform manual tasks including moving furniture or other heavy items efficiently and safely
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with personal vehicle delivery is a plus
