Rogers Group is currently seeking a Heavy Truck Mechanic II/III for the AL SMA. This position will be reporting to the Shop/Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.
Job Details:
  • Wages are dependent on experience
  • Starting wage will be higher based on verifiable experience

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs on heavy trucks, heavy equipment and asphalt equipment.
  • Trouble shoot and diagnose a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brakes, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating and cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.
  • Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
  • Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
  • Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
  • Operate mobile equipment.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience is REQUIRED.
    • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under DOT regulations & company safety policies and practices.
    • Must be computer literate and able to use a laptop for diagnostic purposes.
    • Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
    • Experience performing DOT Annual Inspections preferred
    • Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
    • Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet
    • Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
    • Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
