Exact responsibilities may vary depending on app type, platform, your company, and the industry. The career requires you have excellent communication skills, as you collaborate with a team of other developers on a daily basis. Most mobile developers have at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Mobile Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Mobile Developer, you need strong programming skills in languages like Swift, Kotlin, or Java, along with experience in mobile app development frameworks and a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with integrated development environments (IDEs) such as Android Studio or Xcode, and knowledge of version control systems like Git, are crucial, as are certifications in mobile platforms. Why Join Subway?

At Subway, we are not standing still. We are building.

This is a business focused on what matters most: growing franchisee profitability, strengthening our brand and creating long-term value. The people who thrive here are the ones who want to make a real impact.

You will not just do the work. You will shape it.

We move fast. We think like owners. We make decisions that matter. We hold ourselves to a high standard because what we do directly impacts thousands of franchisees around the world.

If you bring energy, accountability and a bias for action, you will fit right in.

We take the work seriously, but we also know the best results come from teams that support each other, celebrate wins and show up ready to build something better every day.

This is your chance to be part of what’s next.

  • Perform manual and automated testing to validate functionality, UI/UX, performance, and platform compatibility.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites using tools compatible with React Native (e.g., Detox, Appium, Jest).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements and ensure testability and accessibility of features.
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and work with developers to resolve issues.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using Azure DevOps.
  • Monitor app performance and user feedback to proactively identify quality improvements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (some examples listed below):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 2–6 years of experience in mobile QA; 3+ years of mobile QA experience with at least 1 year focused on React Native applications.
  • Strong understanding of mobile platforms (iOS and Android) and cross-platform development.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks for React Native.
  • Hands-on experience with Detox for end-to-end testing in React Native.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
  • Knowledge of mobile analytics and crash reporting tools (e.g., Firebase, Sentry).
  • Experience with cloud-based device testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
  • Basic understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and React Native architecture.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

What do we offer?

  • Insurance Plans (Medical, Life)
  • Pension/401K/RSP (country specific)
  • Competitive Bonus
  • Mobility Allowance
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Company Holidays
  • Volunteering time
  • And More…..

Compensation: The base pay range for this role is $119,200 – 149,000 USD annually.
