Mobile Building Engineer
Job Description Summary
This position supports the Sr. Facilities Manager in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment on behalf of the client. This position supports the Assistant and/or Chief Engineer and Sr. Facilities Manager in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment on behalf of the client. The Engineer will accurately and perform timely routine operation, inspection, maintenance, and repairs all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment, and systems in assigned facilities to obtain the most efficient operating results and life expectancy. Can include HVAC, boiler, heating, refrigeration, water, and energy systems to ensure the effective operation of the client facility.
Position assures that equipment is being maintained in an energy-efficient and safe manner, and downtime is reduced to a minimum by anticipation of necessary repairs and maintaining records of past operating experiences. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc. The Engineer will perform at the highest of ethical standards, reflecting the core values of C&W as defined in its Code of Conduct, Policies and Procedures Manual, and other related company policies.

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Trade school or apprentice program preferred

Experience
  • Minimum 4+ years technical building engineering experience
  • Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair, and system maintenance

Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Applicable trade licenses (e.g., Journeyman/Master Electrician, Operators License, Steam Engineer, City licenses as required)
  • EPA Universal (Section 608) certification for CFC/HFC refrigerants

Skills & Abilities
  • Operation/maintenance of HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, gas/water systems
  • Knowledge of energy management systems
  • Strong understanding of building systems operations and repair
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Basic proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word; ability to use smartphones/tablets, upload PDFs, join virtual meetings

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and building systems
  • Major HVAC and plumbing repairs (compressors, coils, piping, fixtures, etc.)
  • Electrical work (conduit, cables, panels, motors)
  • Maintain and repair boilers, pumps, air compressors, water systems, sewer systems
  • Operate and maintain building automation systems
  • Inspect facilities and report conditions
  • Maintain inventory, follow safety protocols, and comply with all codes/regulations
  • Participate in emergencies and occasional light travel during events
  • Complete required safety training and maintain all necessary licenses

Vehicle & Travel
  • Company vehicle provided
  • Engineer responsible for vehicle maintenance and processing expenses through C&W vendor (Element)
  • Regular driving between sites (up to 4-5 hours/day)
  • May require entry into CEV (Controlled Environmental Vault) locations with strict safety protocols

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, climbing, stooping, crouching
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Work may include exposure to noise, extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust, or fumes
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors across multiple properties
