Job description

Join the Movement for Health Empowerment at WISEcode

WISEcode is on a mission to transform how people understand, choose, and enjoy the foods they eat. We are not building another static health app. We are pioneering an intelligent, interactive experience that empowers families with clarity, confidence, and curiosity around everyday decisions.

Our powerful AI-driven platform is backed by one of the most comprehensive and transparent food datasets in the world. As we evolve our suite of mobile products, we are seeking a Senior Mobile Developer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and evolve production mobile applications using Flutter and Dart across iOS, Android, and web while participating in the full application lifecycle from concept and design through build, deploy, test, release, and support.

  • Build efficient, reusable, reliable, and maintainable mobile codebases using scalable architecture patterns, including layered feature architecture, state management, routing, deep linking, reusable UI components, and Flutter code generation workflows.

  • Integrate backend services and APIs into mobile applications, especially GraphQL and Backend-for-Frontend patterns, while supporting authentication, storage, analytics, feature flags, observability, crash reporting, and AI-assisted product workflows.

  • Use agent-first development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI coding environments to accelerate planning, implementation, debugging, testing, refactoring, and documentation while reviewing, validating, and taking full ownership of all AI-assisted code before production.

  • Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and Figma designs into responsive, engaging user interfaces, including complex UI experiences such as camera/scanning flows, charts, custom components, and design-system-based screens.

  • Troubleshoot and debug application issues related to performance, responsiveness, stability, rendering, networking, native platform behavior, build configuration, and release workflows.

  • Support native iOS and Android build, signing, configuration, and store delivery using tools such as Xcode, Gradle, TestFlight, App Store Connect, Google Play Console, Codemagic, GitHub Actions, and OTA update workflows such as Shorebird.

  • Work closely with product managers, backend engineers, AI teams, and QA engineers to understand requirements, provide technical insight, deliver timely solutions, and ensure comprehensive testing and validation of mobile applications.

  • Contribute to automated testing, code reviews, technical documentation, Git discipline, linting, formatting, pre-commit standards, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives within the development team.

  • Stay current with Flutter, Dart, mobile development, AI-assisted engineering, and native mobile ecosystem trends while operating with senior-level autonomy across the mobile-to-backend boundary.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional mobile engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping production mobile applications.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Flutter and Dart, including mobile architecture, cross-platform best practices, asynchronous programming, application lifecycle, UI architecture, and performance optimization.

  • Experience building and releasing applications for iOS and Android. Mobile web experience is a plus.

  • Proficiency with agent-first development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI coding environments, with the ability to use AI effectively while owning code quality, correctness, testing, security, and production readiness.

  • Experience with state management, routing, deep linking, and scalable mobile architecture patterns such as Riverpod, BLoC, go_router, layered architecture, or comparable approaches.

  • Experience with Flutter code generation workflows such as freezed, json_serializable, build_runner, or similar tooling.

  • Strong experience integrating mobile applications with backend APIs, especially GraphQL, including queries, mutations, fragments, pagination, caching, and Backend-for-Frontend patterns.

  • Experience with authentication flows, Git, code reviews, native iOS and Android build/release processes, CI/CD pipelines, and app store delivery.

  • Familiarity with analytics, observability, crash reporting, feature flags, local storage, caching, offline support, internationalization, localization, accessibility, and responsive UI is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of TypeScript / Node.js serverless functions, Hasura, Nhost, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, search, LLMs, embeddings, or supporting backend services is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong product sense, attention to detail, proactive ownership, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, backend, QA, data, AI, and leadership teams.

  • A sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to go to market successfully within tight deadlines.

  • Startup experience is a must.
