What is a Mobile Crisis Team?

A Mobile Crisis Team is a group of mental health professionals who provide immediate, on-site support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. These teams typically consist of clinicians, social workers, or counselors who are trained to assess the situation, de-escalate emergencies, and connect individuals to appropriate services. They often respond in the community, such as at homes, schools, or public places, instead of requiring people to visit a hospital or clinic. The goal is to provide timely intervention, reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, and ensure the safety and well-being of those in crisis.
