The opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our Georgia team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, calibrating, and repairing a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic instruments and equipment. This position is critical in ensuring systems meet compliance standards, operate reliably, and support mission-critical operations.
Responsibilities
  • Creating database and applications programming for automation projects based on design, sequence of operation, and other project requirements.
  • Assists in relaying instructions or technical direction to subcontract installers where needed.
  • Loading and configuring software for field and network level controllers.
  • Energizing and activation of control panels and internal controllers on power and network systems.
  • Performing initial wiring verification and electrical validation of controller Inputs and Outputs.
  • Performing analog point calibrations and digital point verification of points connected to controllers using basic electronic test equipment.
  • Performs system checkout and assists in startup of control systems on live mechanical equipment and troubleshoot controls issues.
  • Diagnoses trouble or defect; determines corrective action and repairs system.
  • Participates in formal verification testing as well as formal building commissioning activities, while completing necessary validation documentation and keeping management, contractor or customer informed of job progress and any issues encountered.
  • Documenting all changes and providing information for as-built documentation.
  • Participates in job site final walk and/or final completion for systems.
  • Provide technical support, coaching, and direction to end users and field labor when applicable.
  • Adhering to all safety standards and attending required safety training, with a strong emphasis on employee and subcontractor safety
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building controls and automation, including troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of process control and/or Direct digital Control systems Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, operation and controls.
  • High school diploma, associate’s degree preferred
  • BACnet IP, TCP/IP, SQL and Modbus protocols experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer relation skills; team player.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Must pass a background screening for work on a federal installation.
  • Time management; organizational skills.
  • Adaptability; dependability; flexibility; integrity.
