Job description

Your Impact:

The Applications Analyst supports sales growth and operational efficiency by assisting in the development of automation solutions and contributing to the quoting process. This role focuses on creating accurate CAD drawings, preparing cost details, and ensuring proposals meet client requirements and company standards. Working under the guidance of senior team members, the Applications Analyst collaborates on concept development, gathers technical information, and maintains project documentation, while building technical expertise and industry knowledge.

What You'll Be Doing:

    Assist in developing automation concepts that meet customer requirements while following company standards and client specifications. 
    Create supporting AutoCAD drawings and basic operational descriptions for proposed automation concepts. 
    Prepare preliminary cost estimates under the guidance of senior team members. 
    Support the quoting process by compiling data, organizing documentation, and ensuring accuracy in assigned tasks. 
    Gather technical details from internal teams and assist in clarifying requirements with customers as directed. 
    Contribute to the creation of detailed proposals by providing accurate drawings, cost details, and supporting information. 
    Demonstrate attention to detail, efficiency, and accuracy in all assigned responsibilities. 
    Research new products and technologies as requested and assist in obtaining technical and cost information from suppliers.
    Store quote-related data (specifications, quotes, estimates, drawings etc.) according to Samuel standards
    Required to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company Health and Safety and Other Policies

Position Requirements: 
    Sound technical knowledge over a broad range of technology and applications
    Some knowledge of control systems and software
    Ability to interpret customer requirements and specifications to develop creative technical concepts aligned with a Win Strategy
    Proficiency using 2D and 3D AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create conceptual layout and tooling drawings/models 
    Meticulous attention to detail
    Good written, verbal and presentation skills in the English language
    Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
 

Autonomy and Authority
    Works under close guidance from senior team members, following established guidelines and standards; seeks assistance for complex or unfamiliar issues. 
    Work is closely reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and technical soundness.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
    College or University degree in engineering or related discipline
    A minimum of 4 years' automation industry experience
    Experience in machine design is a definite asset
    Ability to run simulation software is an asset
    Valid Passport and driver's license may be required, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally

Special Requirements:
    Frequent presence on the shop floor and in engineering areas.
    Occasional travel to customer sites, vendors, or other company locations.
    Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment with competing priorities.

The expected compensation range for this position is $42.73-$58.75. This range includes base pay and target variable pay. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for the role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth
