About our Department: The Information Technology Service Department's primary responsibilities are in the areas of providing information technology, developing and implementing recommended standards for information technology, developing and maintaining security policies and systems and coordinating the acquisition of information technology for all City Departments.

Our goal is to provide the best data processing services to the City through the effective utilization of existing and new information technology. The ITS Department will implement and support technologies and processes that will increase service to City employees and enhance staff productivity. Programmer Analyst II Overview: This is data processing work in programming computers and in performing limited systems analysis assignments.

Work involves programming a variety of computer systems applications using conventional computer languages and conducting limited systems studies, independently or as a member of a system design team. Employees in this class are proficient in most programming techniques and are familiar with the full Software Development Life Cycle. Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or a related discipline from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S

Department of Education. Three (3) or more years' experience in the Information Technology field, preferably with a concentration in software development and experience in programming, systems analysis and database design, and ability to access DBMS's using SQL is preferred. Must pass a fingerprint background check.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Visual Studio .NET and related technologies (C#, VB, ASP, MVC, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, XML, JSON, Bootstrap, Web Services, Entity Framework, Linq, and SQL Server) is highly desired. Mobile application development is highly desired. Experience with Microsoft SQL server database administration is desirable

Experience with large scale financial, payroll and timekeeping systems is desirable. Experience with Crystal reports or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is desirable.
