Job description

Job Title: React Native Mobile Developer
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 6 Months (Contract to Hire)
Job Description:

As a React Native Mobile Developer at KPMG, you will be pivotal in designing and implementing innovative cross-platform mobile applications. Leveraging your extensive experience in React Native, you will develop functional and visually appealing features. Your responsibilities will include building robust cross-platform mobile applications with a focus on performance optimization and seamless user experiences, creating reusable components and stored procedures, applying principles of modular architecture and responsive user interfaces to enhance scalability and reusability, and utilizing testing frameworks such as Jest and Detox to write comprehensive unit tests, ensuring high-quality code and reducing production bugs.

You will work closely with UI/UX designers to align application functionality with design vision, integrate backend systems by collaborating with backend developers to implement APIs effectively, and engage with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into fully functioning applications and features that meet business needs. Additionally, you will conduct independent research on mobile application trends and present findings to the development team to foster innovation and improvement, advocate for user-centric design, effectively communicate ideas and vision to ensure the end product meets high user experience standards, and contribute to the creation and maintenance of design and development documentation, capturing essential processes in clear Markdown format. Staying updated on industry trends to identify opportunities for design and development enhancements and advocating for modern practices within the team will also be part of your role.

Qualifications:

You should have advanced proficiency in React Native, with experience in tools such as React Navigation, Redux, Redux Thunk, RN Reanimated, React Hooks, ES6 JavaScript, and ESNext. Proficiency in using native build tools and package management systems, including NPM, Homebrew, XCode, Android Studio, Gradle, CocoaPods, and associated CLI tools, is essential. A deep understanding of both iOS and Android architectures before and after compilation, enabling effective optimization of mobile applications, hands-on experience with JSON data models and integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs to ensure smooth data communication, and competence in shell scripting to automate processes and solve problems efficiently are required. Familiarity with OIDC and OAuth 2.0 authentication methods to provide secure application user identification and authorization, the ability to articulate processes clearly in written form, crafting thorough and accessible documentation using Markdown, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing user-friendly, visually appealing, and engaging mobile applications and progressive web applications, ideally with a focus on client-facing solutions, are necessary. Experience working within structured environments that leverage Agile methodologies to foster collaboration and iterative development, and self-directed with strong verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills, enabling effective idea-sharing and collaborative teamwork, are also required.
