Senior Application Support Professional

About Your Role

As a Senior Application Support Professional, you will serve as the senior technical leader and subject matter expert within the Host and Support Help Desk organization, supporting Fiserv's mission-critical web portal, card processing, dispute, fraud, and settlement platforms. You will lead the technical response to complex production incidents, strengthen operational resiliency through monitoring and automation, and partner across Development, Infrastructure, Systems Operations, and Client Operations teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of real-time debit transaction processing services.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex production incidents impacting real-time debit card transaction processing environments running on HP NonStop (Tandem) platforms
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for client-impacting technical issues, providing guidance to frontline helpdesk teams and ensuring timely communication and resolution
  • Drive proactive monitoring of transaction processing systems by identifying processing anomalies, transaction failures, latency issues, and service degradation before they affect clients
  • Develop and maintain advanced monitoring dashboards, operational alerts, and search queries utilizing Splunk and similar observability platforms to improve issue detection and service performance
  • Automate operational workflows, health checks, reporting functions, and repetitive support activities through Python, Shell scripting, and other automation technologies
  • Partner with Application Development, Infrastructure Engineering, and Systems Operations teams to conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and improve platform stability
  • Review, validate, and support production deployments, maintenance activities, and application releases while ensuring uninterrupted financial transaction processing
  • Participate in occasional off-hours needs to provide leadership during critical incidents to restore service and minimize business impact

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in application support, production operations, systems engineering, or related technical roles within the fintech, payments, or banking industries
  • 4+ years of experience supporting high-volume, real-time transaction processing applications within mission-critical production environments
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting HP NonStop (Tandem) platforms and associated payment processing applications
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing tools such as Splunk for enterprise monitoring, alerting, log analysis, and develop monitoring queries or operational reporting solutions
  • 3+ years of experience using Python, Shell scripting, or comparable scripting languages to automate operational processes and administrative tasks
  • 3+ years of experience performing database queries, transaction analysis, and troubleshooting complex production processing issues
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Prior experience writing TACL macros and scripts within HP NonStop environments
  • Knowledge of debit card transaction processing frameworks, transaction routing, and payment network integrations
  • Experience evaluating or utilizing AIOps platforms, machine learning-driven monitoring solutions, or AI-assisted support technologies
  • ITIL certification or experience operating within ITIL-based incident, change, and problem management frameworks

Salary Range

$82,000.00 - $141,600.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
