  • Perform risk and dependency management across the engineering organization.
  • Oversee resource planning activities, align work with organizational strategy, and integrate efforts across teams as needed.
  • Ensure delivery of software within quality standards by facilitating and maintaining a clear definition of done (DoD) for Agile stories.
  • Measure business value delivered by teams, including features committed versus released and user stories completed, and analyze productivity through bug-to-feature ratios.
  • Assess delivery efficiency using lead time (idea to deployment) and cycle time (development to deployment) metrics.
  • Evaluate backlog health by analyzing backlog size, aging items, and prioritization effectiveness.
  • Monitor delivery quality through defect density, code review feedback, and test coverage metrics.
  • Assess sprint performance using completion rates, goal achievement, velocity, and improvement actions to close gaps.
  • Analyze code metrics, including commit volume, pull request activity, and code complexity.

Qualifications

  • 7- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading diverse, global engineering teams
  • Strong technical background building customer-facing, mission-critical web applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, MVC, Entity Framework Core, React, JavaScript and TypeScript, or comparable technologies

  • Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture and Azure services, including App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure DevOps, CI/CD automation, Service Bus, Event Grid
  • Experience applying modern architecture and engineering practices, including SOLID principles, clean architecture, domain-driven design, microservices, code quality, performance optimization, and secure development
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers, conduct effective code reviews, foster a high-performance engineering culture, and drive continuous improvement through Agile delivery practices and metrics
  • Strong product mindset with the ability to shape requirements, influence roadmap decisions, manage competing priorities, and oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Experience modernizing technology platforms, optimizing existing codebases, improving DevOps-based delivery execution, and supporting SaaS product development
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound technical and architectural decisions under pressure
  • Experience with large-scale third-party integrations, external software integrations, consulting or client-delivery environments, and vendor or partner relationship management
  • Experience in Life Insurance, Annuities, InsurTech, broader FinTech, mobile development, AI/ML capabilities, and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, and Azure Boards is a plus
