Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to drive the integration between next-generation mobile applications and embedded automotive architectures. In this role, you will bridge the gap between vehicle hardware and digital ecosystems, defining the requirements that allow smartphones to securely control vehicle features, stream media, and process over-the-air updates. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external suppliers to deliver intuitive, secure, and cutting-edge connected car experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements & Architecture: Define system-level and component requirements for vehicle-side modules interacting with commercial mobile applications (iOS and Android).
  • Connected Security: Design and implement robust security protocols to protect safety-critical Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and secure gateways from unauthorized external access.
  • Feature Development: Architect end-to-end framework requirements for remote vehicle control, diagnostics, status monitoring, and Flash-Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates.
  • Supplier & Tooling Collaboration: Partner with third-party software and hardware vendors to align on technical specs, establish internal test benches, and validate system functionality.
  • Market Innovation: Conduct competitive benchmarking and market research to guide the technology roadmap for in-vehicle Wi-Fi, infotainment, and digital cockpit features.
  • Validation & Documentation: Author comprehensive development plans and technical documentation while utilizing industry-standard tools to verify and validate mobile app performance.

Core Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Mobile Ecosystems: Proven experience developing large-scale mobile applications utilizing Kotlin (Android) or Swift (iOS).
  • Infotainment & Streaming: Technical background in media playback systems, USB interfaces, and wireless streaming technologies like Bluetooth, Android Auto, or Apple CarPlay.
  • API Architecture: Strong understanding of RESTful concepts and the OpenAPI specification for designing clean, well-modeled interface endpoints.
  • System Decomposition: Demonstrated ability to break down complex, high-level vehicle functions into clear architectural elements across mobile, cloud, and embedded systems.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Advanced Degree: Master of Science (MS) in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
  • Automotive Tooling: Hands-on experience with vehicle network tools such as CANalyzer, Intrepid Vehicle Spy, or ETAS-INCA.
  • Embedded & Flashing: Deep knowledge of Bootloader integration, Flash Bootloader, End-to-End (E2E) protection, XCP protocols, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Experience launching mobile services on major cloud platforms, alongside familiarity with DevOps and DevSec pipelines.
  • API Testing: High proficiency using Postman for API testing and validation.
