Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander, WI is seeking a LABORATORY SECTION LEAD - MLS to join our LAB team!
The Laboratory Section Lead Tech acts as the lead tech within one or more laboratory modalities (Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Microbiology/Molecular Diagnostics, or Point-of-Care Testing). Has technical oversight of their section with respect to new implementations, quality assurance activities, and training and competency of staff. Perform testing and routine duties of an MLT/MLS.
HOURS: Full Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every pay period. Primarily days with rotation into PM/Nights as needed, every 4th weekend, rotating holidays
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices is normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree or associate degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
  • Has a minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Possesses active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS-ASCP), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT-ASCP) or equivalent.
  • Current BLS certification may need to be obtained- All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
