Medical Laboratory Technician II (MLT II) – Blood Bank Preferred

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a respected healthcare organization to hire a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician II (MLT II) for a full-time opportunity within a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.

This position is ideal for an experienced laboratory professional who values accuracy, collaboration, and delivering high-quality patient care. Candidates with a background in Blood Bank/Transfusion Services are especially encouraged to apply.

Schedule

Day Shift | Monday–Friday
10-hour shifts
Rotating weekends and holidays required

Candidates interested in future night-shift flexibility are highly desirable.
Alternative 8-hour schedules may be considered with manager approval.

What You’ll Do

As an MLT II, you’ll perform moderate- to high-complexity laboratory testing while supporting efficient laboratory operations and quality patient care. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform laboratory testing across multiple disciplines in accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards
  • Analyze, verify, and report accurate patient test results in a timely manner
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Perform and document quality control and quality assurance procedures
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards
  • Accurately document patient and testing information within the laboratory information system (LIS)
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, physicians, and healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Assist with workflow coordination and support departmental operations as needed
  • Follow all HIPAA, infection control, and workplace safety protocols

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related laboratory science program
  • MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent) required
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience
  • Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Blood Bank/Transfusion Services experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working in hospital or acute-care laboratory settings
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
  • Flexibility to support night-shift coverage if needed in the future
